The spring session of Medford's Neighborhood Leadership Academy begins Tuesday, March 30.

The 10-week course meets from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in Room 216 of the Higher Education Center, 101 S. Bartlett St. in Medford.

A collaborative project of Rogue Community College and the West Medford Community Coalition, the academy is meant to promote increased civic and neighborhood involvement by local residents, high school and RCC students, business and nonprofit leaders and community leaders.

Volunteers teach the courses and lead each class in a community project that the participants select. The class may be taken for three college credits. If taken for credit, RCC tuition and fees apply.

Scholarships are available courtesy of the Carpenter Foundation. Dinner is provided, and reimbursement for child care is available if requested in advance.
