Carol Anne Cunningham



Carol Anne Cunningham died at her Ashland home on March 23, 2010, after a five year struggle with cancer. She was born in Milwaukee, Wis., in 1939, and had lived in Ashland for almost eight years.



Carol was an honors graduate of Smith College after being accepted at Vassar, Wellesley and Smith. All of her life she prided herself in learning and academic achievement. At Smith she majored in art history with a strong liberal arts base. She later earned a masters degree in art education. She was a very talented artist.



Carol was very successful in several endeavors. For many years she became very accomplished in the real estate field in Chicago. She was engaged in marketing appraisals management and development. She was recognized as one of the most successful women in real estate in Chicago.



Throughout her life she continually expanded her education both academically and spiritually. She became an expert on ancient Mayan culture including Mayan art and spirituality. She studied yoga in India and became a yoga teacher and lecturer. She also studied in Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Mexico.



Carol is survived by her ex-husband, Tom Cunningham, with whom she remained good friends; her cousin; and three stepchildren



Funeral services will be held at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home on Friday, March 26 at — p.m. Rabbi Marc Sirinsky will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 25, at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wis.
