The Oregon Department of Transportation has postponed a closure of the southbound off-ramp at exit 27 on Interstate 5 that was scheduled for tonight.

A cantilevered directional sign that was scheduled to be installed needs further testing before installation, ODOT spokesman Gary Leaming said. Then the sign will need to be galvanized before it can be installed.

The sign will be installed over the off-ramp to provide directions for drivers exiting the freeway at the new south interchange. Workers recently finished the concrete base for the sign between the freeway and the off-ramp.

Leaming said he did not know when the sign might be ready for installation.
