Southern Oregon Foreclosure Support Group is offering a "Getting Traction" workshop for local homeowners facing foreclosure.

The workshop is planned from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 28, in Central Point. A location will be chosen by Friday based on the number of people interested, organizers said, adding they will call registrants with the address. There is a suggested $20 donation to cover expenses, but no one will be turned away for inability to pay.

The support group, made up of local homeowners, has been able to stop and cancel some foreclosures, said Nancie Koerber, owner of Champions RealTime Training in Central Point, in a press release.

Register by calling 541-664-8332 or going to http://winningwave.com/registrationhomeownerworkshop.

Participants will learn how to get transparency on what is real regarding home loans; why some loan services are not cooperating with homeowners; who the decision makers and owners of home loans are; what rights homeowners have and what they can do to ensure them; tools to stall or temporarily cancel a foreclosure; what and how to use a Qualified Written Request; and what a Forensic Loan Audit is and how to use it as a bargaining chip.

Members give no advice regarding these areas, but rather share their research, activities and resources that have been used to get traction on foreclosure issues, Koerber said.
