Harold "Pat" W. Foley



Harold "Pat" W. Foley, 75, of Gold Hill, Ore., passed away after a long illness on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at his home.



Pat was born November 15, 1934, to Harry and Goldie Foley, of Gold Hill. He was the grandson of Michael and Alice Foley, of the Foley Ranch, in Gold Hill, located on Foley Lane.



As a longtime resident of Gold Hill, Pat attended school at Hanby, Crater High, and graduated with a degree from the University of Oregon, of which he remained an alumnus. Pat also was a great follower of the Oregon Ducks - he never missed a game.



After serving in the Army at the Army Presidio in California, Pat taught school in Ukiah, Calif., Germany, Okinawa and Japan. While in Japan, he traveled extensively for 25 years, all over the world, finally retiring back home in Gold Hill, where he volunteered for Access Inc., formerly known as Loaves and Fishes.



Survivors include his brother, Stanley Foley, of Gold Hill, Ore.; sisters, Alice Arasmith, of Gold Hill, Ore., Harriet McManhon, of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Shannon Sue Foley, of Nantucket, Mass.; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Geraldine Zoller, of Conneticut.



A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, 600 Beebe Rd., Central Point, Ore., with Father Jim Clifford officiating. A gathering after the memorial service is planned for family and friends of the family at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Foley home, 268 2nd Ave., Gold Hill.
