Empty rentals remain scarce in the region this month, Southern Oregon Rental Owners Association reported.

Members reported a 4.5 percent vacancy rate for the month, up slightly from 4.2 percent in February and down from 6.6 percent in January. The March 2009 rate was 8.1 percent.

Rental owners in Jackson and Josephine counties reported 201 vacancies out of 4,506 units.
