James Bruce Wamboldt

James (Jim) Bruce Wamboldt passed away with his family by his side, March 20, 2010, after a battle with brain cancer.

James was born March 13, 1961. He graduated from Leavenworth High School, in 1979, and joined the Air Force in 1981. After a career in the Air Force, Jim received a bachelor's of science degree in construction engineering from Montana State University in 1999. Jim was just short of receiving his master's of science degree in civil engineering at the onset of his disease. Jim was devoted to his family and friends, who in turn loved him dearly. His humor and kindness will be missed by all who knew him.

James is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Katie) Wamboldt, of Jacksonville, Ore., whose friendship and marriage spanned over 30 years; daughter, Shasta (Forbes) and grandson Merrick McClain Jonasson, of Medford, Ore.; and daughter, Kelsie (David) Reid, of Klamath Falls, Ore. Jim was proud to introduce both of sons-in-law as his sons. He is also survived by mother, Virginia Holman of Bozeman, Mont.; and father, Lawrence Wamboldt of Lansing, Kans.; brother, Mark (Lori) Wamboldt, of Smithville, Mo.; his brothers-in-law, John (Teri) Weber, of Gold Beach, Ore. and Chief Petty Officer Steve Weber, USCG, Chetco River Station, Brookings, Ore.; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

At James' request, cremation has taken place through Perl Funeral, in Medford, Ore. A celebration of Jim's life is being planned for a later date.
