Oregon's state park campsite reservations system will be out of service from 5 p.m. today until 8 a.m. April 14.

Reservations Northwest, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department's campsite reservations center, will not accept overnight and day-use reservation requests, either by phone or online, during the two-week period.

The down time is needed to transfer current reservation, customer information and financial data from an old reservations system to a new system.

Testing and final staff training also will take place during the two weeks.

All parks will honor existing reservations and during the two weeks, the parks will remain open for camping on a first-come, first-served basis. Officials say at this time of year most camps are open and have ample space available.

Cancellations can still be made by calling 1-800-452-5687.
