Samantha Owirka, Jordan Jones and Mallory Tacdol all crushed home runs for the Panthers (15-11).

Owirka, who hit a two-run blast in the seventh inning, went 4-for-4 with four runs. Jones finished 4-for-5 with a solo shot — her sixth of the year — four runs and three RBIs.

Mallory Tacdol, who was 2-for-3, added a solo homer in the sixth.

Ricki Tacdol was 3-for-5 with three runs and Tasha Equitz added three hits. Olivia Beamish-White went 2-for-2 with two runs, and Megan Hobson had two hits and two RBIs.

Bree Luzny recorded two hits and two runs and Jasmine Gomez added two hits and two RBIs for the Challengers.

Cascade Christian (16-9) plays Rogue River at 4:30 p.m. at Crater High today, with the winner earning the second seed in the Sunset League.

South, which finished in fourth place in the Southwest Conference, travels to play Tigard in a Class 6A playoff contest at 5 p.m. Friday.
