Robert A Powers



Robert A. Powers, age 55, passed away on May 11, 2010, at 9:03 p.m., at his home in Medford, Ore.



Bob was born in Stockton, Calif., December 1, 1954, to

Robert and Mary Lou Powers. Bob attended elementary and high school in Grants Pass, Ore., graduating in 1973. He then attended Oregon Institute of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.



Bob worked around the world in the engineering field on jobs in Alaska, Puerto Rico, Kuwait, Algeria and other

countries. He met his wife, Chanta, in Bangkok while on

vacation from his job in Kuwait. He then returned to jobs around the United States where their children were born. He was currently employed as a project controller for Chicago Bridge and Iron Services, an engineering and construction company in Chicago.



Bob was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Chruch. He

enjoyed golf and target shooting, but his family was his life.



He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Chanta; his daughters Snow Powers, who will graduate from Washington

University in St. Louis on May 21, 2010, and Sunshine

Powers, who will graduate from North Medford High School on June 12, 2010. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Lou York of Grants Pass, Ore.; sisters Carole Dellaragione of Redding, Calif., and Jennifer Paulson of Albany, Ore.; two sisters-in-law, and four brothers-in-law of Thailand; and his neices and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert Powers; and his stepfather, Gene York.



A memorial service will be held on Sat., May 29, 2010, 11:30 a.m., at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1020 E. Main Street,

Medford, Ore., phone 541-772-4395. A reception will follow at the church. In leiu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Medford High School Girls Golf

Program in care of Tim Sam, 1900 Keene Way Drive,

Medford, Ore., 97504, or to the pre-school scholarship fund at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
