Oregon Congressman Greg Walden and other Republicans will be in Medford Saturday to discuss federal spending.

The event is at 10 a.m. at Veranda Park retirement community, 1641 Veranda Park Drive, Medford.

Walden, plus Oregon Sen. Ted Ferrioli of John Day and Oregon Rep. Bruce Hanna of Roseburg, will be in town to talk about Republicans' "YouCut" program, which invites citizens to decide which federal spending programs should be eliminated to save money.

The public can vote on five "wasteful spending projects" weekly, Republicans say, and the project with the most votes will be offered by House Republicans for a vote on the floor of the U.S. House.
