Instruction for would-be bus riders comes to an Ashland workshop this week when a Rogue Valley Transportation District employee leads a session on reading transit schedules, finding bus stops and planning routes.

The session is from 1 to 3 p.m. in Room D of the Southern Oregon Unviersity Campbell Center at 655 Frances Lane, Ashland. It's part of a series offered by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Kat Smith, transportation options coordinator for the transit district, will cover specific skills riders need to optimize use of public transportation.
