U.S. Cellular has added two cell towers to its Jackson County network in the Trail and Central Point areas, creating service where coverage was previously spotty or non-existent.

The tower near Trail covers an eight-mile radius providing wireless service in an area where cell phone users found connections poor or non-existent along Highway 62 between Shady Cove and Lost Creek Lake.

The new Central Point tower is near Old Stage Road, increasing coverage and network capacity along Interstate 5 between Central Point and Gold Hill.

The Chicago-based wireless provider has more than 230 towers in Oregon.
