Organizers of a Josephine County project to send 600 stockings to troops overseas at Christmas are looking for donations to help pay for materials.

4-H club members are working on the "Stockings for Soldiers" project, and organizers at the Oregon State University Extension office are collecting money.

Club members will sew the stockings and then will seek community help filling the stockings in the fall. A similar project last year resulted in 300 stockings for soldiers, organizers said in a news release.

Donations may be made to the OSU Extension Office at 215 Ringuette St., Grants Pass, or by calling Lyn Phelps at 541-476-6613.
