Leda L. Smith

Leda Smith was born on the Klimek family homestead on the North Fork of Anderson Creek, near Talent, Ore. She was the oldest daughter in a family that included five boys and two girls. A life-long resident of the Rogue Valley, Leda married Marc A. Smith in 1946 and raised her family in Ashland. She worked for twenty-five years at the Ashland Daily Tidings before retiring. Leda was active in the Ashland Elks, and later at the Mountain Meadows Retirement Community where she was known for her lovely flower garden.



She is survived by sister, Julia Johnson, of Medford, Ore.; sons, Clint Smith, of Medford and Jeff Smith, of Portland; daughter, Gail Williams, of Lake Stevens, Wash.; grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Jeff, and Crystal; and great-grandson, Aydan.



A graveside service will be held at the Scenic Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Ashland on Friday, June 25, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. A reception for family and friends will follow at 3:00 p.m., in the Rogue Room of the Mountain Meadows Club House, 855 Mountain Meadows Drive, Ashland.
