Charles Leslie McLauchlan Sr., 61, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, at Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass, Ore., after a long and brave battle with cancer.
Charlie was born February 25, 1949, in San Diego, Calif., to Charles and Frieda McLauchlan. He graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1967, with future plans of developing a cattle ranch. Charlie later moved to the rural town of Butte Falls, where he raised his family.
He was a passionate person with a love of the outdoors, vintage cars and tractors. He had a gift for talking and a love for meeting new people. "I never knew a stranger" was not just a clich but a way of life for Charlie. He was immensely proud of his children and considered them his life's legacy.
Charlie is survived by his devoted soul mate, Sue Corrie; daughters, Heidi Daniels, Elizabeth Lutz, and Kimberly Price; sons, Charlie Jr., Michael and Andrew McLauchlan; sons-in-law, Travis Daniels, Derek Lutz and Brian Price; and two grandchildren, Talese Price, and Brooklyn Lutz (due June 21, 2010).
His family is appreciative of all his friends and caregivers who provided countless hours of loving care and companionship.
Grave side services will be held at Sparlan Cemetery on Water Gap Rd. in Williams on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a celebration of life.
