A man was found floating dead in Applegate Lake Tuesday afternoon, and authorities are now seeking clues from anyone who might have seen him on the east shore that morning.

A boater discovered the body of David Lowell Click, 59, no address listed, floating face down in the water on the lake's eastern shore, opposite the Copper boat ramp, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.

The boater who made the discovery notified people near the boat ramp and the group pulled the body ashore at about 1 p.m. and called authorities.

Investigators identified Click and notified his family, the release said. The cause of death hasn't been determined, but investigators found no obvious signs of violence.

Detectives are seeking any witnesses who were at Applegate Lake Tuesday morning and remember seeing a lone man along the east shoreline of the lake. They ask people to please call the department's tip line at 541-774-8333.
