Everybody loves a treasure hunt, and a presentation in Ashland tonight serves as a primer to one of the most popular forms of hunting around today.

Geocaching fan Colin White will explain the basics of the pasttime in a presentation from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ashland's ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum, 1500 E. Main St. The talk is free, but organizers suggest a $5 donation.

Geocachers use GPS devices to try to find hidden containers set in locations worldwide, including dozens in Jackson County.

White's presentation will look at types of geocaching, show how to use devices from Apple iPhones to GPS units to find caches and explain how to get started.
