Matthew John Cacka

Dr. Matthew John Cacka, 27, of Central Point, Ore., passed away Monday, July 19, 2010, at Three Rivers Community Hospital during surgery after his motorcycle struck an SUV that evening near Riverside Park in Grants Pass, while heading home from a family dinner in Grants Pass.

Born December 27, 1982, Matthew grew up in Wildwood, Alberta, Canada. As a teenager, he raced dog sleds in Canada. After graduating from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Fla., Matthew obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas, marrying his college sweetheart, Sandra Wagnell, of Grants Pass, Ore. during that time.

Matthew and his wife moved from Dallas to Medford three years ago, where Matthew opened a Chiropractic office and was establishing a successful practice, meanwhile moving their residence to Central Point. He and his wife attended Bear Creek Church, which meets at St Mary's School. Matthew enjoyed biking, hiking, backpacking, skiing (especially cross-country), and spending time with friends.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Sandra; parents, John and Dawn Cacka, of Wildwood, Alberta; and three brothers, Mark, David, and Nathanael.

A memorial service will be held for Matthew at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2010, in the gymnasium of St Mary's School at 816 Black Oak Drive in Medford. Matthew had formerly expressed wishes that, upon his eventual demise, donations be made to Gospel for Asia in lieu of flowers.
