Anna K. Filardi



Anna K. Filardi, 88, went home to be with Our Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Three Fountains Nursing Home.



Anna was born on February 18, 1922, in Iselin, Pa., to Josephine and Agostino Santucci, and was one of 11 children. She had a twin brother, Mario who preceded her in death. She grew up on the north side of Pittsburgh, Pa., and attended St. Mary's school.



On November 14, 1944, she married Joseph Filardi, in Pittsburgh, Pa., where she resided and gave birth to three children, Ronald, Patricia and Robert. In 1977, she moved with her son, Ronald and family to Phoenix, Ariz., where she lived until 1995. Again, she moved with her son Ronald and family to Medford, Ore. Anna loved to crochet beautiful afghans and doilies that many people she met benefitted from. She loved listening to music and playing cards with family who she enjoyed, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



Anna is survived by her sister, Mary Graff, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; son, Ronald (Linda), of Medford, Ore.; daughter, Patricia Taylor, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; son, Robert (Wendy), of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings and ex-husband, Joseph Filardi.



There will be a Mass celebrated by Fr. Stephen Fister, at St. Rita's Retreat House in Gold Hill on Monday, July 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society in Medford, OR.
