Revenue per room jumped 8.1 percent to $52.21 in June for Southern Oregon's motel and innkeepers.

The latest figures compiled by Smith Travel Research of Tennessee also showed increases in room demand, revenue and occupancy. Occupancy grew 8.3 percent to 67.2 percent. Room demand also rose 8.3 percent to 176,939, while revenue was up 8.1 percent to $13.8 million.

Statewide, there was growth in all six categories tracked, as revenue per room increased 7.4 percent to $59.22 while demand was up 8.5 percent to 1.25 million units and revenue grew to 8.6 percent to $109.7 million.

Carolyn Hill, chief executive officer for Southern Oregon Visitors Association, called it "a very strong month. Not only for Southern Oregon, but for most areas of the state."
