The National Association of Development Organizations Research Foundation has given Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Inc. a 2010 Innovation Award from for its regional industry tours.

The National Association of Development Organizations Research Foundation has given Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Inc. a 2010 Innovation Award from for its regional industry tours.

SOREDI hosted three industry tours during fiscal 2009-2010, visiting four communities and 16 businesses. Industry tours were designed to introduce SOREDI members to the diversity of businesses based in Jackson and Josephine counties, provide insight into SOREDI's role and nurture partnerships between the public and private sector.

Industry tours are slated to resume in late September. Tentative company tours include Erickson Air-Crane, Sabroso, Fire Mountain Gems, Pro Weld, Duro-Last Roofing and Met One. Industry tours are open to SOREDI members first and then available on a first-come, first-served basis to other interested business professionals.

NADO is a Washington, D.C.-based association that promotes programs and policies that strengthen local governments, communities and economies. Award winners will be showcased during NADO's annual training conference in August.
