The public can get a look at the equipment the government uses to fight fires from the air Saturday during an open house at the Medford air tanker base.

The public can get a look at the equipment the government uses to fight fires from the air Saturday during an open house at the Medford air tanker base.

The open house is from 9 a.m. to noon at the base at 600 Nebula Way, adjacent to the Medford airport. The event organized by the Oregon Department of Forestry is free but could be canceled if the equipment needs to be used to fight fires.

The agency will have a DC-7 air tanker, attack helicopters and other aircraft on display.
