ASHLAND — Three residents of the Oak Street house where police discovered more than 500 opium poppy plants last week were each indicted Tuesday on seven felony drug charges, the Jackson County District Attorney's Office said Wednesday. They and two other adult residents of the home in the 700 block of Oak Street, where a 6-year-old girl and a 1-week-old boy lived, were each indicted by a Jackson County grand jury on a felony charge of child neglect, said Deputy District Attorney Jeremy Markiewicz. Emeth Brandov-Ysrael, Jonah Shore and his brother, Daniel Shore, were indicted on charges of unlawful possession, manufacture and delivery of opium, unlawful manufacture of psilocybin mushrooms, unlawful possession, manufacture and delivery of marijuana and first-degree child neglect, all felonies, Markiewicz said. Clayton Allan and Lacey McCoy were indicted on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor, and first-degree child neglect, a felony, Markiewicz said. The five adults and two children lived in the approximately 900-square-foot home along with several dogs and cats, said Detective Rick Spence of the Ashland Police Department. The home was full of drugs and drug paraphernalia and was extremely dirty, he said. On July 21, police arrested Brandov-Ysrael and Jonah Shore and the Department of Human Services took the 6-year-old girl, who appeared to be healthy, into protective custody, police said. The 1-week-old boy was not taken into protective custody on July 21, and it's unclear whether he has been since, Markiewicz said.
