A 73-year-old man missing since Monday near the Southern Oregon coastal town of Port Orford has been found in the Rogue River National Forest.

The Coast Guard says a Curry County Search and Rescue team found the man Wednesday at Josh Creek about 14 miles east of Port Orford, and asked for a Coast Guard helicopter to fly the man out because of the rough terrain.

The Oregonian identified the man as William Cox and said he was reported missing Monday morning by his nephew.

The man was flown to a Coast Guard station at North Bend, then transferred to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay.
