Smoky Red will present catchy and fun funk, rock, blues and New Orleans-style dance music at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Roscoe's BBQ, 117 S. Main St., Phoenix.

The band features Marcella Ruikis on vocals, Jim Quinby on piano, Brent Norton on guitar, Jay Jorgensen on bass and Kevin McKern on drums. They'll be joined by Jim King on trumpet and flugelhorn and Rico Salas on sax.

Look for tunes such as Sly Stone's "Family Affair," Stevie Nicks' "Gold Dust Woman" (Fleetwood Mac), Howlin' Wolf's "Built for Comfort" and Atlanta Rhythm Section's "Spooky."

Also look for Quinby on tunes such as "I'd Rather Be Blind, Crippled and Crazy" (The Derek Trucks Band) and Marcia Bell's "That's Enough of That Stuff."

Ruikis, Quinby and Norton are turning heads with their three-part harmonies and eclectic dance music, and Salas' and King's horn section adds a rich layer to the sound. Cover is $3. Call 541-512-1046.
