Robert "Bob" Leo Fair

Bob Fair passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010.

Evident to all who met him was the depth of his warmth, kindness, and love for God, family and friends, which was a constant theme throughout his rich life.

Born June 3, 1931, Bob spent his youth in Pawhuska, Okla. and Bakersfield, Calif. After graduating from East Bakersfield High School, he joined the Navy and was stationed in Guam during the Korean Conflict. He had a long and successful career with State Farm Insurance in Bakersfield, Calif.

Bob married Mary Lou SantaCruz in 1957 and had three sons who were the focus and joy of his life.

He married Mary Honey Clark in 1977. They moved to the Rogue Valley in the 1980s and enjoyed many years close to family as devoted grandparents. Mary preceded him in death from breast cancer in 1998 but his heart always remained with his Honey.

Bob enjoyed fishing and camping with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Rogue Valley Fellowship. Papa to almost everyone, he became a lovable fixture in the community, appearing loyally at every grandchild's game or event.

His quick laugh, lighthearted nature, and endless humor made Bob a readily adoptable grandparent to everyone he met. Despite his often reserved and humble character, he left an indelible impression on those in his life which will not be quickly forgotten.

He is survived by first wife, Mary Lou Harp, now of Berryville, Ark.; and children; Daniel Fair and wife, Judy of Medford, Ore.; Michael Fair and wife, Cindy, of Peoria, Ariz.; and Tom Fair, currently of Melbourne, Australia. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and their spouses, as well as his sister, Darlene, of Bakersfield, Calif.

A graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Memory Gardens, Medford, OR, at 5:00 p.m.
