Mary and Ewald Stollger of Central Point celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 5.

Ewald Stollger met Mary Whitaker in Dayton, Ohio, and they were married Aug. 5, 1950, by the justice of the peace in Dayton, Ohio.

Throughout the years, they lived in many areas of the United States.

Ewald Stollger was drafted into the Army and served in the Korean War in 1954.

He is a retiree from the U.S. Postal Service and does desktop publishing.

Mary Stollger followed her husband around the country between the U.S. Army and U.S. Postal Service positions, taking care of their children and working outside the home.

The Stollgers have three children: Regina Nunes of Grass Valley, Calif.; Robert Stollger of San Francisco; and Michael Stollger of Alameda, Calif. In addition to their children, they have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
