Delores Dee Sanders

Delores Dee Sanders, 81, a well-known resident in the Coquille area, died in her Coquille home on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. She was born in Clay Center, Kans., on April 18, 1929. Preceded in death by her husband, Frank, a retired Oregon State Police officer, she is survived by her two children, Cathy, of Waldport, Ore., and Jim, of Milwaukie, Ore.; and a sister, Joyce, of Centralia, Wash.

Dee moved to Oregon as a child and graduated from Talent High School, which is where she and Frank met. After graduation she and Frank married. They first lived in Grants Pass for about 19 years, had two children, and then moved to Coquille where they lived 38 years. Dee will long be remembered for her bowling passion. This past June she received a plaque for participating in the national tournament for 25 years and had participated in state bowling tournaments for 50 years.

Dee's cremation was handled by Myrtle Grove Funeral Service. There will be a remembrance gathering, hosted by Dee's family, at the Coquille Valley Bowling Center, Saturday, September 25, 2010, from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in Dee's name or to the Dee Sanders' Scholarship Fund at Coquille High School, 1306 N.
