Southern Oregon Brewing Co. and Medford Rogue Rotary Club are planning an event Wednesday to raise money for polio work.

The brewery at 1922 United Way, Medford, will donate 50 percent of beer proceeds to the cause from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in an event dubbed "Pints for Polio."

Rotary's goal is to raise $200 million to match $355 million in challenge grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting $555 million will support immunization campaigns in developing countries, where polio continues to infect and paralyze children.
