John F. Meyer, 74, of Medford, Ore., passed away Friday, September 17, 2010, at his home. He was born March 24, 1936, in a farmhouse on Hwy 79, in O'Fallon, Mo., to John J. Meyer and Leona Frances Koch Meyer.

On August 6, 1955, John married Marlene Ann Brown, in Cottleville, Mo. John was a semi-truck driver for USF/Reddaway Trucking and enjoyed driving. He was a million mile semi operator several times over with forty-two years of driving. John earned awards many times, ranging from "Best Looking Kenworth Truck by Owner-Operator" to "Million Mile No Accident" awards. He worked for Courier Newsom in Mo. and Indianna, and Pacific Motor Trucking in Ore. His hobbies were racing, tinkering on his antique cars and other spiffy vehicles that he loved. His other love was his yard all his prized posessions; bird houses, fountains, yard ornaments, etc.

John's parents, two sisters and his daughter, Judith Dunn, preceded him in death. He leaves his wife, Marlene Ann Brown Meyer; daughter, Debbie (Roger) Kirsch; Thomas and Lisl Meyer, Bruce and Kelley; grandsons, Joshua Meyer, John Thomas Meyer, Justin Meyer; granddaughters, Jasmin and Julianna Meyer; and two great-granddaughters who live in Southern Carolina.
