The Black Tornado swept Crater, 25-10, 25-18, 25-18, at the Comets' gym.

"We were aggressive and attacking tonight," North Medford coach Erika Wright said. "The girls really let loose and got after it. They were finishing their shots and swinging away."

Outside hitter Danielle Smith, a senior transfer from Phoenix, paced the North front line with seven kills. Junior middle hitters Caiti Barrie and Mikayla Murphy combined for nine kills.

Kim Gomez, a senior libero, served a team-high six aces for North and came up with 11 digs.

"(Gomez) was serving with pace and did good job target serving," said Wright.

Crater outside hitter Katie Britton had five kills, senior setter Krista Thorpe dished out 12 assists and Courtney Savage added 12 digs.

"We cleaned up aspects of our games and made less errors tonight," said Wright. "The way we were serving, moving it deep and short with pace, kept them out of system."

ROSEBURG 3, SOUTH MEDFORD 0 — At Roseburg, South Medford suffered its first loss of the season, 25-18, 25-20, 25-21, in Southern Oregon Hybrid play.

The Panthers are 4-1 overall, 2-1 in the SOH.

For South Medford, Sam Owirka tallied nine kills and 22 digs, Madi Sash had five kills and setter Hanna Curtius chipped in 19 assists.

EAGLE POINT 3, GRANTS PASS 2 — At Eagle Point, Tatum Winter and Krystyn Cline combined for 33 kills for the Eagles.

Winter finished with 18 kills and five blocks, and Cline recorded 15 kills in Eagle Point's 25-21, 13-25, 23-25, 25-20, 15-13 victory.

Carolina Regalado had 31 assists, Ashley Wilson turned in eight service points and Lesley Neilson added 25 digs for the Eagles (3-4).

HIDDEN VALLEY 3, SOUTH UMPQUA 0 — At Tri City, Bailey Bars had seven kills and became Hidden Valley's all-time career kills leader in the nonleague win.

The junior right-side hitter added six aces, Kara Fikso had five aces and Joelle Swanson recorded 10 kills for the Mustangs (4-0), who won 25-15, 25-18, 25-20.

CASCADE CHRISTIAN 3, ROGUE RIVER 0 — Host Cascade Christian rolled to the 25-14, 25-10, 25-16 Southern Cascade Hybrid win.

For Rogue River (1-4, 0-1 SCH), middle Sarah Segura had five kills, two blocks, two digs and an ace, middle Alli Ehrhardt had four kills, six blocks and two digs and Cailin Honea served 100 percent with 12 assists.

ST. MARY'S 3, ILLINOIS VALLEY 0 — At Cave Junction, Illinois Valley had difficulty on serve-receive as St. Mary's rolled to a 25-14, 25-7, 25-7 victory.

In the second game, Domonique Valdez served 13 straight points and scored 17 points from the service line.

Senior middle Kylee Adderson led the Crusaders (4-0, 2-0 SCH) with 11 kills and four blocks, and middle Alexi Provost-Shean pounded nine kills.

BUTTE FALLS 3, PROSPECT 1 — At Butte Falls, the strong serving of Mariah Moore kick-started several runs for Butte Falls as it won the Mountain Valley League match, 25-27, 25-14, 25-20, 25-19.

Moore, a junior setter, had 15 aces and 29 assists for the Loggers (1-2, 1-2 MVL).

Butte Falls senior middle Bessie Taylor had 14 kills and three blocks, and senior outside hitter Beth Sutfin added 14 kills. Sophomore Tamika Funk had 15 serve-receives.

Heather Lass, who was 12-for-12 from the service line, had six kills, eight assists and seven blocks for Prospect. Kristalyn Mahoney recorded six kills and four blocks, and Taylor Bernhardt added six kills and five blocks for the Cougars (4-3, 1-2 MVL).
