Warren Harry and Charleen Marie Brown of Butte Falls celebrated their 50th anniversary Oct. 1 with a renewal of vows ceremony attended by the family at the Assembly of God church. Rev. Steve Harvey officiated. An open house reception followed at the Butte Falls Community Hall. The celebration included a dance, with music provided by the "Renegades." Approximately 50 people attended the reception.

Warren Harry Brown married Charleen Marie Ferguson on Oct. 1, 1960, in Reno, Nev.

Warren attended Butte Falls schools, graduating in 1952. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service and in the wood division at Medford Corp. until entering the U.S. Army in 1956.

After serving for two years, he returned to work for Medford Corp. for 39 years as a "cat skinner."

He retired in 1991. His hobbies include wood-working and furniture refinishing.

Charleen attended Butte Falls schools until 1954, then moved to California, where she graduated from Surprise Valley Union High School in Cedarville, Calif., in 1955. She attended Southern Oregon State College, now Southern Oregon University, where she received a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1964 and a master's degree in 1968. She received her administrative credential from the University of Oregon in 1985. She worked for the Eagle Point School District for 30 years as a classroom teacher, media specialist and principal, retiring in 1993. Her hobbies include crocheting, storytelling and genealogy. She has been president of the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society since 2000.

The Browns have six children: Jeffrey Brown of Butte Falls; Craig (Michelle) Brown of Central Point; Vicki Green of Medford; Nancy (Donnie) Pollard of Fort Bragg, Calif.; Christina (Jerry) Beams of Butte Falls; and Shayna (Joseph) Dortch of Butte Falls. They also have 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
