Nearly 30,000 people a year make their way to Hillcrest Orchard, home of RoxyAnn Winery in Medford's east hills. Some come for the Friday night music, others for the weekly Growers Market. But the main draw continues to be RoxyAnn's claret, merlot, pinot gris and other wines.

Mail Tribune readers found RoxyAnn vintages to be their favorite for the fourth year in a row.

"Our tasting room activity in the barn has been the driver for getting people to come and experience the place," said marketing director Michael Donovan. "We keep new activities going and it's a great asset being in the middle of Medford; it's unusual to have 250 agricultural acres inside of the city limits."

The winery grows 76 acres of grapes, including new plantings of chardonnay and pinot noir.

"We're real excited about this year's vintage," Donovan said. "There's more flavor in the grapes this year."
