Joseph J. Zeke Zarosinski of Bend, Ore., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, due to complications after surgery. Joe was born on June 20, 1957, in Klamath Falls, Ore., to Raymond and Millie (Motschenbacher) Zarosinski. In 1975, he graduated from Klamath Union High School, where he was a three-sport athlete, sang in Madrigals, and was elected class president his senior year. After high school, he moved to Bend and worked for his dad at Zarosinski Industries as a salesman.
It was during this time Joe developed his passion for golf and softball. On October 21, 1989, Joe married Shelley (Crandall) Malone, in Bend, Ore., where they raised their sons, Devon Malone and Jerome Zarosinski. For several years he coached youth athletics, little league and basketball. Above all, Joe was known for his sense of humor, celebrations, generous heart, love of his family, friends and beloved pets.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Ray; and his brother, Donnie. Joe is survived by his wife, Shelley; sons, Devon, of Portland, Ore., Jerome (girlfriend, Justine Lumley), of Bend, Ore.; mother, Millie Zarosinski, of Bend, Ore.; brother, Dr. Doug (Gail) Zarosinski of Lafayette, La.; sisters, TZ (John) Fargason and Judy (Larry) Mehlmauer, both of Medford, Ore.; in-laws, Don and Marlene Crandall, of Bend, Ore.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; his beloved dog, Poncho; and cat, Little Kitty.
