Tim Trower has written on subjects ranging from high school sports to the early '90s Trail Blazers in the NBA Finals in nearly two decades at the Mail Tribune.

Trower, the son of an Air Force officer, was born in New York, lived in Taiwan and the Philippines and was raised in Corvallis. He was a two-way starter on a state-finals football team, pitched at Linn-Benton Community College and finished his schooling at Oregon State, where he was sports editor when Ralph Miller's basketball team was No. 1 in 1981.

An avid golfer, he and his wife Cathy moved here in March 1990. He's been sports editor since November 1997.
