Brent Kenyon's roadside sales of crab, halibut and snapper went so well he decided to take customers up on their requests he get busy in the kitchen.

"Everybody wanted me to cook," Kenyon said. "I love to cook. So with a lot of family help, I decided to open this restaurant."

He opened The Wharf at 827 W. Jackson St. three years ago in August.

"I try to treat people as if they were eating at my home," he said.
