And they are especially fond of the Crater Lake Rim Drive, which circles the rim of the ancient caldera created some 7,700 years ago.

As you drive around the deepest lake in the nation whose sky-blue water is among the clearest in the world, you periodically will pass vista points that offer breathtaking views of the lake, sheer cliffs and towering rock spires.

If you are heading north from Medford, you can follow the beautiful Crater Lake Highway to Union Creek, another favorite scenic drive among readers.
