Named sixth-best public course in the country in the 2010 Golf World Readers Choice awards, Centennial Golf Course gets top billing with Mail Tribune readers, too.

Designed by two-time PGA Tour winner and 1977 Amateur Champion John Fought, the 18-hole course at 1900 N. Phoenix Road opened in 2006, a sister course to nearby Quail Point Golf Course. Both are managed by OB Sports.

Vince Domenzain, general manager and director of golf, said the course's condition and customer service keep golfers coming back.

"I think we just stay with our philosophy of making sure we maintain the condition of the course and give good customer service and create a nice environment," Domenzain said.
