Mrs. Miller, 85, of Medford, Ore., died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Three Fountains Nursing Care Facility. She was born on October 5, 1925, the daughter of Gladys and Robert Attwooll, in Minneapolis, Minn. On December 14, 1947, in the University of Minnesota Chapel in Minneapolis, she married Leon Miller.

Following schooling in Minneapolis, she attended the University of Minnesota, where she was a member of Gamma Omicron Beta, a professional home economics society. Later she was a buyer for the university's book store as it expanded greatly upon the arrival of the veterans under the G.I. Bill following World War II.

The couple moved to the St. Louis, Mo., area where they made their home for 40 years. While in St. Louis, Mrs. Miller, was a member of the Ritenour Camera Club and involved in many church activities. Following retirement in 1988, they moved to Central Point, Ore., and became active in many community activities. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Medford, and was an ordained deacon. Her hobbies were photography, knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include daughter, Nancy Whatley, of Mimbres, N.M.; son, Gary Miller, of Indianapolis, Ind.; sister, Helen Thomas, of Prescott, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The memorial service was held at First Presbyterian Church, Medford, on Sunday, October 24, 2010. The Reverend Dr. Joyce DeGraaff, pastor, and John Braund, officiated. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford, OR, 97501. Arrangements are by Perl Funeral Home.
