SALEM — Junior Sarah Holgen went off for 20 kills as the 17th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball squad scored a 25-16, 25-15, 31-29 victory over Corban on Friday in Cascade Conference play.

Holgen finished the sweep with 20 kills and just three errors to go along with 12 digs. Senior Leah Bergstrom went for 12 kills and just one error and also had eight blocks.

Senior All-American setter Lindsey Stone finished with a match-high 39 assists, while Becky Johnstone had 18 digs.

Southern Oregon (17-3, 14-1 CC) cruised through the first set with leads of 18-9 and 21-11 and leads of 6-1 and 21-13 in the second set.

In the third set, the Raiders had a tough time shaking the Warriors before a kill by Bergstom and an attack error by Corban wrapped up the match.

CONCORDIA 1, SOU 0 — At Portland, top-ranked Concordia scored in the 12th minute and then held on for a victory over Southern Oregon.

The Raiders (11-4-2, 5-2-1) are currently in third place in the Cascade Conference standings with 16 points. Concordia has clinched the regular season title with 22 points, while Corban is second with 18 points and OIT and College of Idaho are both tied for fourth with 15 points. The top four teams advance to the conference's postseason tournament.

Concordia got on the board in the 12th minute with a goal by Alex Thomas for a 1-0 lead that stood through the match.

The Raiders tried to break through the CU defense late in the second half, but shots by Kennedy Roteman and Denise Powell didn't find the net.
