Sue Stone, 75, of Ruch Ore., left this world on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, to go to her home in heaven. She passed away in her home with her family in loving attendance to her and to one another. Sue was born on May 26, 1935, in Portland, Ore., to Willis and Fay Cooper. She married the love of her life in 1953. She and Wayne Stone were the kind of couple that, together exemplified a wonderful and well lived life.
Sue is survived by her husband, Wayne; their four daughters, Marcy Cummings, Misty Stone, Michelle Stone-Holmes and Angela Stone-Caisse; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three siblings; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Known as "Nana" to her family, she truly embodied the love of a mother and grandmother. Quick to laugh, this passionate woman was the hub of her family and her family was by far was the most important thing in her life. Sue was deeply in love with Jesus, and the idea of heaven was something she studied and was enthralled with. Her earthly passions were flowers and gardening, creating a beautiful home, swimming, jewelry making and laughing out loud.
Sue will be so deeply missed and leaves a void forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at Ruch Community Bible Church, 190 Upper Applegate Rd. A written memory of Sue is welcome, and come ready to share a favorite story as the service will provide time for those who knew her to say what is on their hearts.
