E. June Willis

E. June Willis, 93, passed peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2010, in Medford, Ore., in the presence of her loving

family, to be with her Lord and Savior. Born Elizabeth June Gillette, on April 21, 1917, in Drumright, Okla., to Raymond Walton and Mildred Bernice (Berry) Gillette, she always was known by her middle name, June.

June moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in her early 20s, and

became a nurse for an ENT specialist. That is where she later met Wardell DuChene Willis, whom she married on March 28, 1948, only three weeks after meeting. In the 1960s, they moved their family to Hilo, Hawaii. At the end of 1988, they moved to Medford, Ore. They were blessed with 41 years

together, until Ward passed in 1989.

June enjoyed volunteering at Providence Medford Medical Center, from 1989 to 2008.

June always gave unconditional love and support to her

family. She is survived by a family who adored her: two

children, Darryl D. (Paula) Willis, of Hilo, Hawaii and

Jeannine (Kenneth) Carvalho, of Medford, Ore.; grandsons, Christopher D. Willis and Dustin D. (Alisha) Willis; great-grandson, Landon DuChene Willis; step-son Gary (Charlene) Moulin; step-granddaughter, Cheryl (Vince) Dell'Osso; three step-great-grandsons; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers,

Raymond Walton Gillette, Jr. and Gail Gillette.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held in January 2011, in Medford, Ore. Details will be available in the Mail Tribune in early January.
