Highways across the region are packed with snow and drivers should be cautious and carry chains. Chains are required on large vehicles and those towing loads, the Oregon Department of Transportation reports.

A crash on Highway 238, four miles west of Jacksonville at about mile 29, has cause minor delays, ODOT's TripCheck site reports. The crash occurred just before 7 a.m., but limited information is available.

The city of Medford dispatch center said no serious problems were reported early this morning, but some city streets were snowy.

Butte Falls School District, which had planned to delay the start of classes because of expected icy roads, reportedly has cancelled school today.
