Ed played quarterback at Oregon State from 1978 to 1982, while Kris (formerly Brosterhous) played basketball for the Beavers from 1973 to 1976.

Their sons Kyle and E.J. will face each other at 1 p.m. Saturday when top-ranked Duke takes on Oregon at the Rose Garden in Portland. Kyle is a senior standout for the Blue Devils and E.J. is a sophomore for the Ducks. Both are former South Medford High stars.
