Hidden Valley and Grants Pass high schools took third and fourth place, respectively, in the Southern Oregon High School Boys Bowling Tournament at Roxy Ann Lanes on Sunday.

Roseburg beat Brookings-Harbor to win the event. Also competing from Southern Oregon were North Medford, South Medford, Crater and Ashland.

Golf

Bill Atwood made his third hole-in-one with a 5-iron on the 159-yard ninth hole at Quail Point Golf Course on Nov. 13.

Mike Atwood, Rich Atwood and Gary Brenneman witnessed the shot.

Alan Roberts made his first hole-in-one on Monday at Eagle Point Golf Club.

Roberts' ace came on the 15th hole during senior men's league play. The shot was witnessed by Rick Collins, Pete Peeters and Mas Honda.

Bill Dalles aced the fourth hole at Bear Creek Golf Course on Nov. 19.

The shot was witnessed by Nick Amorelli, James Scott and David Kleiman.

Football

Two teams representing the Rogue Valley Pop Warner Football League played in state championship games Saturday at Auzten Stadium in Eugene.

The Upper Rogue Blue Eagles defeated Sheldon, 7-0, while the Phoenix-Talent Patriots lost 19-18 in the Junior Pee Wee Division II game.

Swimming

Grace Jovanovic of the YMCA Rogue Sharks swim team was awarded a top-five trophy for her best five performances in three events during the 2010 short course season at the Oregon Swimming Top 5 Awards ceremony in Canby on Sunday.
