Ashland celebrates traditions of thankfulness at the 27th annual Interfaith Thanksgiving.

The ceremony starts at 10 a.m., at Wesley Hall, behind Ashland's United Methodist Church, 175 N. Main St. It includes prayers, chants, dancing, sermons, songs, and folk tales from a variety of traditions, focusing this year on the idea of home.

Organizers ask participants to bring blankets that will be distributed to homeless shelters this winter.

Ashland musicians Laura Derocher and David Gabriel host the event. Speakers and performers sharing their faith and talent include Kahana hula dancers, Unity minister Norma Burton of Ashland leading prayers and stories in the tradition of the ancient Celts, Rabbi David Zaslow of Havurah Shir Hadash singing songs from the Bible, and Taoist, musician and yoga teacher Gene Burnett discussing philosophy.
