Laura Earnest Naumes, co-owner and vice president of Naumes Inc. of Medford, has joined the board of South Valley Bancorp Inc. and its operating subsidiaries, South Valley Bank & Trust and South Valley Wealth Management.

Laura Earnest Naumes, co-owner and vice president of Naumes Inc. of Medford, has joined the board of South Valley Bancorp Inc. and its operating subsidiaries, South Valley Bank & Trust and South Valley Wealth Management.

Naumes has more than two decades of business expertise, including oversight of Naumes Inc., which employs about 2,500 full-time and seasonal employees in three states.

Naumes earned a bachelor's degree in business marketing at Oregon State University in 1980. She worked with her father at their family-owned Earnest Orchards after graduation and went to work for Naumes Inc. in 1987.

Naumes presently is on the Pear Bureau Northwest, Northwest Horticultural Science Advisory and Rogue Valley YMCA boards. She is also a council member for the Winter Pear Control Stewardship and a member of the Technical Advisory Committee, Jackson Country Republican Women and Asante Foundation.

Her previous organization affiliations include Rogue Valley Marketing Association, Medford Pear Shippers, Soroptimists, Federal Codling Moth Management Program, St. Mary's School Finance Committee and board. Naumes was also a member of the Advisory Council 12th District Federal Reserve Bank.

Former KTVL-TV newscaster Shannon Young is now co-host of "Southern Oregon Live" with Russ Batzer on KCMX-AM, which airs from 6 to 8 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Batzer began the show last March.

Both men have more than five years' experience with the company in insurance sales. They are state-licensed health insurance agents, specializing in long-term-care coverage and senior coverage. Darryl Rasmussen has been named manager of Northwest Outdoor Store in Medford by owner Scott Keith.

Rasmussen has 11 years of experience in the outdoor retail industry and worked for Mountain Supply, McKenzie Outfitters and Medford Cycle Sports before joining the Northwest Outdoor Store. He is an avid outdoorsman with 20 years of expertise in rock climbing, skiing, biking, backpacking and snowshoeing. He has climbed Mount Hood, Mount Shasta and Mount McLoughlin.
