When you are ready to undeck the halls, Ashland Boy Scout Troop 112 is poised to help. The troop's 25th Annual Christmas Tree-cycling Day is Saturday, Jan. 8.

Ashland residents should place trees at the curb in front of their houses on the evening of Friday, Jan. 7. Troop 112 and sponsoring organization, the Ashland Lion's Club, will collect trees throughout the day Saturday. Donations for this service will be accepted and checks should be made out to Troop 112, organizers said.

All collected trees will be chipped by the Ashland Parks and Recreation Department crew and used as mulch in Ashland city parks.

Ashland's tree-cycle program has become a model for similar projects around the country. Thousands of trees will be collected and kept out of landfills.
