The program offers services beginning Feb. 1 and continuing until mid-April.

Training for all volunteers starts at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, in the Skyline Plaza Building of the Rogue Valley Manor. There will be nine three-hour training sessions over a three-week period in January with sessions scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, organizers said in a news release. Extensive training materials are provided. Counselors must pass a certification test at the end of the training.

New volunteers will be welcome at the first training class. Call David Argetsinger, district coordinator, at 541-776-2216 if additional information is needed.
